Forgotten architecture: the AGIP gas station that looks like a spaceship

Forgotten architecture: the insider’s story continues Forgotten architecture. Today we are talking about one of the first “forgotten” projects I fell in love with, Frthe former AGIP station on Viale Certosa, which is on the corner of Viale Espinasse in Milan. The station, which almost looks like a spaceship has landed in Milan’s urban development, is a work of art Mario BacciocchiItalian architect and urban planner who designed most of Eni’s buildings during the 1950s, commissioned by its founder, an entrepreneur (as well as an Italian politician and public manager) Enrico Mattei.

Where is it Mario Bacciocchi he creates a building representing a dynamic image of the automotive industry, destined to become a symbol of modern Milanese architecture, today one of the most important forgotten architectures in Italy. Its shapes, concave and convex, resemble the silhouettes of cars and the liquidity of the gas itself, which is dispensed from the container. Of the various stations that Bacciocchi created for Eni, the one in Lecce that is present in the film should be remembered. Fasten your seatbelts OF Ferzan Ă–zpetek.
